Well, I'm in the last hoorah of the Secret Circus book this week. I've spent a lot of time in my studio, scrutinizing and staring. Staring and scrutinizing. I caught myself yesterday with a canvas pressed right up to my nose as my eyes made their way over every little mouse whisker. Oh dear.
Soon the whole kaboodle will be shipped off, and I'll get some sleep.
Thursday night we're going to see Cirque du Soleil with my family, and I can't wait. After that, we're off to the hot springs for the weekend where there will be resting and soaking and lots of snowy trees.
Thanks for your emails about the comment thingy being broken on this site. Soon it should be up and running and again. In the meantime, pay no attention to the scary robot speak that comes across your screen when you try to leave a comment. Sometimes, even robots get confused.
Have a great Monday!

The cabin at the hot springs where we stayed this weekend..
I have loads to talk about, but my brain is a salty, squishy noodle at the moment. All I can say, is that the Secret Circus book has been shipped off (happy, excited, scared, relieved, nervous, tired, ecstatic..can you feel that all at once?).
I have a date with the couch and hours of mindless tv watching...
More soon..

This past week has been a blur of sleeping, tv, tiny adventures, cleaning, and general regrouping after the mad dash to the finish with the Secret Circus book.
I'm finally digging deep into a few custom pieces that folks have been patiently waiting on, answering stacks of emails from the olden days, apologizing in droves for prints that I dallied on shipping, and rediscovering all kinds of things that seemed to have fallen through the cracks over the last few months, (like laundry, and book reading, and ukulele strumming...)
I've also spent a bit of time doodling, daydreaming, and painting in the style pictured above. Something I recommend for anyone whose creative brain has been stretched beyond capacity. It's a nice way to tap back into the free and messy part of painting, and an even nicer way to let all of the technique and precision and thought that goes into illustrating, fall away.
In linky news....
Wendy is due in any day now...I'm so excited!
A little interview in Indie Pretty Perfect!
Have a great Monday.

Easter eggs!
Hope you all had a nice weekend. Gabe and I spent it coloring eggs, eating a slightly deformed but delectable bunny shaped pastry that my mom made, playing a complicated but super fun card game with my brother and sister-in-law, and sliding down a muddy mountain slope. That last one can be blamed on yours truly, and my genius visions of alternate ways to hike up mini mountains.
Now I am back in the studio sketching rabbits. Not the Easter bunny kind, the ice skating kind. More on that soon...
