billy goat

09.04.07 00:05

I just finished the first assignment for the Illustrator Group website that I'm a part of. It's from the story Billy Goats Gruff, one of my faves as a kid.

It's so cool to see how different illustrators interpret the same story. You can see all of the fabulous illustrations right here.

crafty wonderland!

For those of you Portland folks, I'm going to be selling mini paintings this Sunday at Crafty Wonderland from 11-4. Whoo-hoo!

It's been awhile since I've been to this show, and I'm super excited. Come on by the Doug Fir and give me a high five, or a hug or a knowing glance, or one of those friendly punches in the arm. Or..a secret handshake. I LOVE those.

One of the best things about the Doug Fir, is that you can get some brunch upstairs, and then just wander around the whole log cabin-esque place with a mimosa or coffee or whatever kind of thing you like to drink on a lazy Sunday. Not to mention all of the cool arty crafty things that you can see! It's always inspiring and a really nice way to spend the day.

Hope to see you there!

last days of summer

"Last Days of Summer" 20" x 20"

I painted this one last week, when it was starting to get cold and fallish, but today it's back to summer, hot and dry!

Thanks for all of you kind folks who stopped by at Crafty Wonderland yesterday. Hurrah! It was a really fun time. I'm hoping to sell this Saturday at the Alberta Street Fair. I'll keep you posted about that.

And..I'm going to re-open my etsy store at the end of the week. At last!

"Drifting Over Midnight" 5" x 5" available on etsy

I've decided to forgo any art fairs this weekend. I need to get out and run with the Alpacas. Or swim with the Narwhals. Or you know, stretch my limbs a bit.

But not to fear, new paintings are up in my re-opened etsy store! Why see me in person when you can embrace the magical buying power of technology? Soon, robot kisses and frozen pancakes. Oh wait, there are already frozen pancakes. And probably a robot out there somewhere that would kiss you if you told it to. The future is here!

what's new

Oh man, I'm barely squeaking by today. I went to an early warm yoga class this morning, and went on to get mind numbingly exhausted by the end of the day. Everything is tired, my guts, my gums, my bones and organs. I'm trying to think of something clever and funny to say about being tired, but the only words that are seeping out of my skull are, BED and SLEEP which are the two things I plan on diving into in about three minutes. Hilarious!

So, since I don't have any new paintings today, I thought I would share with you guys, a sketch from the Secret Circus book I've been working on.

Nighty night my sweet chinchillas.
