What's New Tuesday

11.06.07 14:02

"Tiny Audience" 12" x 12" available on etsy.

Well, it's November, which means things are heating up for me in the studio. The holidays are coming, and I have a stack of new paintings to prove it. Not to mention an even bigger stack of blank canvases looming up at me. If you get a chance, check out some of the newer stuff in the store.

I've also started working on a couple of painted spreads for the Secret Circus book, which is thrilling and scary all mixed into one arty burrito. I should have something to show you before Thanksgiving.

I think that after the holidays, I'm going to phase out the original paintings that I've been making all of these years, and move more towards limited edition prints of some of my bigger paintings. That would mean, no more mini paintings, and very few other kinds of paintings for sale too...

I'm scared to try this, because the original painting thing has worked for me for a long time, and I genuinely enjoy making them, so much. But I think it's time to move forward, onward and upward and all that. I just don't have the time to make them that I used to, but it would be a big change for me to stop.

What do you think about that? Crazy or smart?

Crafty Wonderland

11.08.07 14:54

Hey, what do you know! A last minute spot opened up at Crafty Wonderland, and yours truly slid right in! I'm going to be there this Sunday from 11-4, with a kaboodle of mini paintings. I can't wait! It's one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday!

Come on by the Doug Fir and dance a little jig, or drink a latte with me. Or better yet, just do some holiday shopping.

Hope to see you there!

"Tree Sleeper" from the tree sleeper series, available on etsy.

Hey there friends, happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Crafty Wonderland was amazing, thanks to everyone who came out. I am also going to be selling at their Super Colossal Holiday Sale, next month, so stay tuned for that.

Against all of my better judgement in this busy time, I took the day off today. I slept in, took myself out to breakfast, hung around the art store, and watched hours of bad tv while eating cold pizza and clementines.

It really doesn't get much better than today. I feel fantastico. Plus, we had a terrific storm here last night and today, and it was fun watch it roll through and pelt the windows.

sail away..sail away..

Well, it's almost turkey time, or veggie turkey time, and Gabe and I are headed off to hang with his family for the holiday!

So this means, that I won't be shipping any paintings until the 28th of November.

It also means, that I will be spending Thanksgiving Day at a water park in Wisconsin.

Just like the pilgrims of yore.

See you in a while! Have a great week...
