"Giving and Receiving" holiday card available on Pretty Darn Swell.

 

Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a great weekend!

 

Here are a few things that are shaking in Johanna land...

 

1. Pretty Darn Swell has a set of eight holiday cards for sale, featuring artwork from eight of their past artists. I have a card in the bunch (pictured above.) There are only 100 sets of cards available, so get them while you can. Some of the proceeds from the cards will go to CoachArt, a fantastico organization that provides free personal coaching in the arts and athletics to kids with terminal or chronic illnesses.

 

2. In other news, I just moved into a new studio! It's in a beautiful old brick building with great light, a slop sink (yes!), a freight elevator, and some great studio-mates. I can't wait to show you guys some pictures of the space.

 

3. If you are interested in having a print of one of my paintings, please let me know. I recently had a giclee print made of "Stocking Up For Winter" for my mom, and it turned out beautifully. I had it printed on a high gloss canvas, and pre-streched on strecher bars, so it would be ready to hang. It looks, feels, and even smells, like a real painting. I am completely blown away at the quality.

 

I can't afford to have prints pre-made of all of the paintings, but if you see one that you would like I can order it for you. They will be a bit smaller than the originals, (9" x 12" or 12" x 12") depending on the original size of the painting, and take about ten days to get to you. Please email me about details and prices.

Art and music are vanishing from the public schools here in the States, just like that, poof! I know this is old news, but it stirs my guts up like a macaroni and tempra paint collage. What would I have done without art and music in school when I was a kid? I have a feeling I would have turned out a lot like this little guy...

I've seen saying for few days now that i was going to be adding some new little paintings to my etsy store, but I've been having trouble with that. Etsy has just redesigned their whole site, and it is fabulous, but still a bit buggy. I will do my best to add images as I can...You may be asking, what the heck is etsy? This cute liitle animation should explain it all...

 

In the meantime, here is a sneak peek of some more paintings from the mini series! These paintings are 5" x 5" and are selling for $40. I've been working really hard to get a small stockpile of them together for the holiday season. When all is said and done, I should have about fifty of the little guys (fingers and toes crossed.)

Hello Friends, Happy Monday!

It's busy times around here, a lot of exciting holiday-ish things are on the horizon that I'm happy to share with you. A group gallery show, more mini paintings, craft shows and (wait for it..wait for it..) holiday cards! Yes, at last! I have three images up for sale right now!
