"Sweaty" 5" x 5" mini painting.
This weekend was spent in my studio, without ANY of my usual distractions. I got a heck of a lot done, but I'm feeling like my brain is a piece of gum that has been chewed way too long.
It was bound to happen, after hours and hours in mind numbing silence, recycling thoughts. (I forgot my ipod to listen to at the studio, every single day, for the past three days.) It was kind of like an accidental meditation retreat. Not a treat, exactly..but sort of interesting.
Otherwise, Gabe and I spent Saturday morning at the farmers market with Zach, Aimee, little Georgia, Sara, Lucas, and baby Winnie. I happen to know that Zach and Aimee are farmers market pros, so we just bought everything that they bought. Success! We came home with delicious bread, apples, and squash. This is a big improvement from the last time we went to the market and I got overwhelmed/inspired and bought a crazy amount of herbs. Just herbs. Herbs that slowly wilted and sank into the depths of our refrigerator.

If you're a Portland, Oregon person, here are a couple of places you can find me lurking this week...
Tonight, I have some paintings in a group show that is opening for First Thursday (5-9:00 pm) at the PosterGarden (630 NW 14th. corner of Irving and 14th) This is a big collective event, with lots of Portland artists that I look forward to meeting. The show runs through December.
Crafty Wonderland! I will be selling mini paintings there on December 10th from 11-4:00pm at the Doug Fir. There are so many cool crafts and folks at these events, you're bound to find everything you need for the holidays. I already have my battle map drawn up. I know who I'm going to pounce on right away, so I can be sure to get some awesome crafty gifts for my family.
If you want to grab a coffee and sit with me at my little table, you're welcome to. I love to just sip something nice and talk to all of the awesome humans that pass by.
Hope to see you there!

2006 Pretty Darn Swell notecard set
It's the middle of December already, and I'm not really sure what kind of time warping machine I've been riding around in this last month, but it's been a pretty zippy one. I'm a little bleary eyed this morning, trying to get myself moving even though my body is saying, heck no! Everything about this season has been more than I expected. More emails, more orders, more high fives, more late night painting marathons, more shows, more cups of coffee.
Yesterday at Crafty Wonderland, there was a line of people stretching up the stairs, through the Doug Fir, and up the street, all waiting to get in before the doors had even been opened! People were packed in there, moving their way patiently through the isles all day long. It was so busy! I spent a lot of time under my little table, trying to find correct change, or bits of string to tie packages with. An all around, very awesome day. I also managed to talk with other bleary eyed crafters, who have been staying up night after night for the past month or so. Some have even been doing multiple craft fairs in a weekend! Dang, that is some serious stamina.
My mini painting selection in my store is pretty much wiped out at the moment, but not to fear! I'm going to be adding new ones all week, starting tomorrow, so please check back again.
Some of the Pretty Darn Swell holiday card mix packs are still available. (Here's where a portion of the proceeds go!) Pretty Darn Swell has also just announced that they are offering five notecard sets made up of each individual artists work. If you're interested in getting a pack of my "Giving and Receiving" cards, or any of the other awesome-o cards in the mix pack selection, be sure to inform Pretty Darn Swell which artist's cards you would like to purchase in the 'ordering instructions' box during your checkout.
I have more to talk about, but I can't seem to think of it right now. Shoot. All brain bits are not firing as they should. Oh well, I'm going to go get my first happy cup of coffee this morning and I'm sure everything will kick into gear.

"Sure You Can Land Here" 5" x 5" mini painting
I just added three new paintings to the store. Whopdidoo! I will be adding more this evening around 5:00 Oregon time, and even more, all week, until Monday. Monday morning will be the last opportunity for you to order if you want to get a painting before Christmas, (I plan on shipping my last batch Monday afternoon.)
My store will be closing for a week, starting next Monday afternoon, the 18th, while I'm away for the holidays.
And, uh...soon I will have more to talk about than "Mini paintings, mini paintings, mini paintings...!" (said with the voice of Jan from the Brady bunch.)
christmas shipping!

I'm shipping my last batch of paintings this afternoon, and I decided to shut down my store a little bit early for the holidays as well. I'm going to close it at around 2:00 Oregon time today, opening up again on December 28th.
I have some serious Christmas spirit this week! I'm going to write more about it as I get a little big more organized this morning..
