knit-a-thon
09.01.05 22:10Ahh, Oregon land. Such a nice visit. I kissed my niece and nephew as much as an auntie can get away with and had an overall, fantastico time. I spent one day and night with some great old friends in Eugene, where Kusi (who doesn’t have a website, but should, because she has knitting fingers that are absolutely SMOKIN..) gave us all knitting lessons over mojitos . I have to say that my fingers and brain didn't always cooperate and i ended up with a tangled, knotted mass of orange yarn. Could have been a side effect of the fancy drinks… but it didn’t damper my enthusiasm for joining the world of knitting, Hurrah!
Meanwhile, back in Brooklyn, our sweet little apartment was broken into and robbed while we were away. Sad. And creepy. I'm feeling very jumpy in here at the moment. But of course things could have been worse, and atleast the kitty is safe and sound, sneezing all over the windows as if nothing has changed...
three day weekend!!
09.03.05 01:04Hey dudes and dudettes,
Holy cats! Hanner is playing a live show this weekend in Brooklyn! It would be fantastico as always to see your shiny happy faces there, sipping on things with straws and keeping time with the butts of your heels. Or your butts!!
Sunday around 9:00 pm
In Williamsburg at Red and Black
135 N 5th St
Between Bedford and Berry
Yayy! Come along on this fantastico long weekend, and celebrate the end of the summer with some beers and ukulele songs….!
black and red show
09.03.05 23:25Oops, a correction!! Hanner is going on at 11:00 tomorrow instead of 9:00. A little bit late for sleepy heads, but not so bad for a long a weekend! Come on out!
sandy scalp
09.05.05 11:39This is a photo of my parents when we went on a harrowing journey through the Oregon coast wilderness, and had to turn around before reaching “the secret beach” we had heard so many false claims about,(mom!). Well, not exactly false, because I did catch a glimpse of it after trekking up thousands of sand dunes, and it was absolutely lovely. Worth every bit of sand in the eye.
Back in city land, and thanks to all of the kind humans who came out to the Hanner show last night. Awesome! Danica and Spider were fantastico. I think I’m going to be playing another show with Danica on the 20th of September at the Delancey, hurrah!
Also, for those of you folks who are free in the afternoons, particularly Wednesday Sept 14th, I will be playing with the Pages at Scenic at 12:40 pm for a CMJ extravaganza. That is, if my jury duty doesn’t spill over to that day. More details soon....
adios summer
09.08.05 21:38I was walking to drums tonight (drum lesson) and the sky was so pink and beautiful with a nice view of this pokey building.
