What's New Monday July 10, 2006
Haunted Kettle
Hey Friends..happy Monday!
I hope you are all having a nice July.
I've posted some new paintings for sale on the artwork page and on the etsy store. I've been painting more and more ghostly spooky things these days, when real life has been far from creepy. In fact, I've spent the last week doing some amazingly fun summerish things. Gabe and I spent the weekend at the Oregon Country Fair and not only ate our weight in crepes, smoothies, monster cookies, empanadas, burritos and Nancy's ice cream..but got to see a lot of old friends in the middle of the shady summer forest. I had my portrait drawn by a little boy at a booth called, "Portraits, by a Boy." A very fitting name, I thought. There are so many fantastic crafts and foods and people at the OCF, but these brooms are my all time favorite.
We also spent a good amount of time with family, camping out in tall grass, eating raspberries, and swimming in a little bitty river with a surprisingly strong current. Ahh, could this summer BE any more awesome....? Well, I didn't think so, but I just found out that I got accepted into the Chicago Renegade Craft Fair in September!! Yippededo! I'll have more details about that in the next month or so. I'm so excited! I had so much fun with Wendy at the Brooklyn Renegade, that I can't wait to do it again. Speaking of Wendy..she's on a road trip right this minute and headed straight for our little house here in P-town. Soon I will inflict the barbecuing mania on her that has swept up my summer with an unstoppable force. The unstoppable force of, FLAVOR.
called it macaroni July 01, 2006

Barbeque + blowing stuff up + potato salad + icy beer + sprinkler in the front yard + watermelon + cousins = 4th of July good times!!
Have a fantastico and safe holiday everybody.

"Personal Assistant" 4" x 4"
*Update* This is my Illustration Friday painting for the week. The topic is, rain. Not that we're having any around here...
Whew..what a toasty beautiful time here in Oregon land. The air is dry and the sun is hot hot hot. I'm chilling in our basement at the moment..the only place that has managed to stay awesomely cool.
I want to thank everyone who came out to the Hanner show last week at Mississippi Pizza. There were so many awesome little kids at the show! One in particular who was rocking out front and center next to the stage. Thanks also to everyone who came to Craft Rock yesterday..a toasty and fun event. I shared a table with Joey from Addie Pearl. We met lots of amazing folks, and tried to stay cool.
I updated my store with four new little paintings that are available.
Also, there are only two days left to buy a print of "Rebuilding the Building" from Pretty Darn Swell! Prints are $20. Five dollars from every print sold will go to Habitat for Humanity! Please check it out if haven't already, and for those of you who have already bought one..thank you thank you!
My brain is moving like slow sun tea today...more to come when I think of it...

Home again, home again June 22, 2006

Strawberry picking on a rainy day...
I’m back in Oregon Land!
I know this is kind of last minute, but I’m having a Hanner show tonight, at Mississippi Pizza. I’m playing with Canoofle, and I go on at 6pm. Come on out tonight for some pizza music good times!
I am also going to be at Craft Rock this Saturday from 10am-5pm. I’m going to be selling some new 4” x 4” paintings. Anything that doesn’t sell on Saturday will go up on etsy on Saturday night. Yay technology!
**Update** Wendy just posted some photos of our booth at Renegade, on her site. You can see them right here!

Wendy's birds are peeking around at all of the cool stuff at Renegade!
Hello friends. Phew. What a weekend. THE Renegade Craft Fair. How do I even begin? What could I possibly say to describe all of the awesome things that happened this weekend? I could use some analogies...like... Renegade was like reuniting with some kind of long lost twin sister that mysteriously likes to eat her breakfast in the exact same way that I do. Or...being at Renegade was like slipping into an old worn, perfect pair of slippers that I never knew I had.
Wendy and I had an amazing time. We buzzed around all weekend, snipping business cards, munching m and m's, chatting it up with tons of old friends and many, many new friends. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to Renegade this weekend. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience for me.
Now for, some business...
I updated my etsy store. Everything that is on the store is available. I am unfortunately sold out of every other painting. I am really sorry to all of the folks that have been emailing about paintings they were hoping to buy online. Feel free to email me about custom paintings, any time.
I'm heading back to Portland tomorrow...I'll update again when my feet hit the green green Oregon grass!

And thanks so much to everyone who came to the Hanner show last night. It was awesome. Michael posted some lovely pictures of the night on his blog.
Yay!!

Ginseng mania!
Happy Monday Everybody!
Well, we made it back from Korea land yesterday afternoon, after an amazing week filled with kimchi, wedding hoopla, backwards baseball, talking elevators and dried squid. Right now I feel a special kind of woozy that can only be achieved through severe jet lag.
Onward! There's no time this week to fall asleep haphazardly in line at the grocery store..(jet lag or no let jag.) I'm headed to New York on Saturday for an action packed week...
1. I'm going to be selling at Renegade Craft Fair on June 17th and 18th in Brooklyn, NY.
2. I have a Hanner show at Pete's Candy Store, on June 15th at 9:30 pm.
3. "Rebuilding the Building" print is available for a few more weeks, on Pretty Darn Swell.
4. I had some paintings up for the Atlantic Art walk last weekend (in Brooklyn) at the Flying Saucer (494 Atlantic Ave.) They will be up for a little while longer if you get a chance to check it out.
