just eat it, eat it April 04, 2006
Eggilty peggilty, just in time for Easter. Ahh, soon I will be back to my regularly scheduled blog, with illustrations and arty whoo-haw..but at the moment, I am still knee deep in swimming and biking and running, getting ready for the Beaver Freezer this weekend. I've stepped up the exercise a bit, and I'm having trouble eating enough food to keep me going. I've never thought of food as fuel. Now I have to constantly be eating, and searching out good foods strictly for the gas they provide. (the fuel kind, not the stinky kind!) I'm even getting up in the night to eat big bowls of raisin bran and hard boiled eggs. It's the strangest thing for me to get used to because my appetite has never been big. I came home from swimming yesterday and burst into tears for no reason at all except that I was very, very hungry.
I need Mrs. Claus from the old claymation Rudolph Christmas Special to follow me around with mashed potatoes and say, "Eaaattttt Papa eat...who ever heard of a skinny Santa?" Then she would give me something tasty to eat every half an hour. That would be ideal.
